A local charity is looking for any information about the theft of their security camera around 6:40 last Wednesday evening from their warehouse on Barker Street.
Big Hearts Small City founder Jason Surette issued the plea for information on social media, and included the surveillance footage, where you can see someone jostling the camera.
“So they knocked it off the building, and then they probably thought ‘Oh I don’t have something to cut the wire off,’” says Surette. “So they come back afterwards to cut the wire off the camera, and then they stole the camera because we could not find it outside anywhere.”
He says this is the second time someone has vandalized, or stolen their camera at their warehouse.
“This is very disheartening for a charity to spend money on cameras that protects our volunteers and members of the public when they come here,” says Surette.
Surette continues by saying “this is very important to protect our volunteers, and we’re just disheartened by the fact that someone keeps vandalizing things that we have.”
Surette is asking anyone with information about the theft to come to them, Codiac RCMP, or Crime Stoppers.
