Enjoy The Sunshine While It Lasts

Sweltering temps have a hold on most of the province but cooler conditions with cloudy days and rain are moving in.

Environment Canada meteorologist Jill Mapea says it’s unlikely that temperatures records will be broken.

“We’re in the middle of July, a lot of the temperature records around the area are well into the 30’s for most of the province.
We could get the odd day where we may break a record but, it doesn’t look it and by Sunday we should see a lot more cloud cover.” Mapea says.

As for summer thunderstorms, Mapea says the northern part on the province have seen more thunderstorms with hail, strong winds and heavy downpours while the south has been drier.

By Sunday, most areas of Southern New Brunswick will start to see it cloud over with a very good chance of showers into early next week.

Meanwhile, parts of Newfoundland and Labrador are under a heat warning where not too long ago some communities were getting snow.
