Saint John police say a man has been taken to hospital in critical condition after reportedly being assaulted.
Police say officers were called to the Market Square Boardwalk around 11:25 p.m. Friday.
“A 54-year-old male victim was found unconscious,” police say in a news release. “This male was transported to the hospital in critical condition.”
Police say a 19-year-old man was arrested nearby and is expected to appear in court on Monday to face charges.
The Major Crime Unit is investigating and police are not releasing any other information at this time.
