Protecting The Inner Bay Of Fundy Atlantic Salmon

RCMP and a coalition of law enforcement agencies are working together to protect an endangered species – the Inner Bay of Fundy Atlantic salmon.

Officials with Fundy National Park and their partners are once again releasing hundreds of the wild salmon into their native rivers to spawn.

Mounties say rivers along the Bay of Fundy will see joint patrols and stepped up surveillance to help protect the species-at-risk.

Anyone caught harming or catching the Inner Bay of Fundy Atlantic salmon could face steep fines of up to $250,000 with possible prison time.

If you have information about salmon-related crimes, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
