Keeping Cool A Priority As Heat Wave Continues

Sales of fans and air conditioners have been brisk over the past few days, thanks to the heat wave.

Dan MacIntosh, the store Manager for Downey Home Hardware in Riverview says, “As soon as that heat hits, that’s what everyone wants. They’ll look at it during the week and they’ll want one, but it’s not hot enough for them, but as soon as it is hot enough, everyone wants one.”

Heat wave conditions cause those items to go flying off of store shelves.

“I just watched three of the last air conditioners in the store purchased and walk out the door,” MacIntosh told us.

His advice, is for everyone to plan ahead for any weather condition, “Look for the great sales. Snow blowers typically go on sale before we get snow, and air conditioners are usually on sale before we get hot weather. That way, you aren’t left disappointed, if those items are sold out.”

The good news is, there may be some relief in our future. A cold front is expected to roll in tomorrow.
