Get set… We are going on a weather rollercoaster ride today according to Environment Canada…
A flash freeze warning has been issued for Metro Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.
Meteorologist Richard Lafortune says the temperature will drop rapidly today as Arctic air returns to the region.
Lafortune says surfaces won’t have a chance to dry out before the drop so that means standing water will quickly turn to ice.
Roads and sidewalks could become icy and hazardous in a short period of time.
Lafortune expects the temperature will fall to zero by about mid-afternoon and -7 C by the evening commute.
He adds the temperature will plunge even further overnight, down to -18 C with a wind chill near -30.
Saturday will cold but warmer conditions are expected on Sunday.
