Moncton Wildcats Reach Deal To Play In New Downtown Centre

A deal has been reached between the Moncton Wildcats and SMG Canada which will allow the Q League team to play in the new Downtown Events Centre.

Wildcats director of business operations Ryan Jenner says it’s exciting to finally reach an agreement which has been a year-and-a-half in the making.

“(It’s) just a challenge to rationalize the whole thing and to get a real understanding of how it’s all going to work. There are just so many details and so many moving parts that you have to take your time and go through it methodically,” he notes.

Jenner says fans will enjoy more benefits and an increased level of experiences while watching a game in the new downtown centre.

Jenner says the centre will be a climate-controlled building with great enhancements including the new scoreclock, fully engineered audio system, wider seats, club seats and corporate suites.

He adds big ideas are already being planned for their opening game in September.

Terms of the deal are confidential and have not been released.
