If you have a little free time this winter , the E.L.F. program needs you.
Elementary Literacy Friends is a volunteer reading mentor program offered to grade two students across the province.
Program Manager Catherine Barry says volunteers spend about an hour with a student twice a week for 10 weeks.
“Volunteers take a 2-3 hour training before and they are provided with all the resources and materials they need to support a student,” Barry says “and then the volunteers are matched up with the student in their community”.
How awesome is this? We are so proud of the work being done by our volunteers in their communities! #mentoringmatters #ElfNB https://t.co/fMNGg62ZSC
