Milk Prices Going Up In February

Putting milk on the table is going to cost a little more as of Feb. 1.

The New Brunswick Farm Products Commission says the minimum price of white milk is going up one cent per litre.

The price adjustment was deemed necessary because of the increase in payroll, energy, packaging and ingredient costs to dairy processors.

Pricing under the School Milk Program will remain steady for this school year.

Commission chair Bob Shannon says provincial dairy producers and processors supply about one million litres of subsidized milk to New Brunswick students each year.
