Bitter Cold From Coast To Coast

Winter only officially began last week but it now has its grip over most of Canada.

Extreme cold warnings and special weather statements about the cold have been issued for nearly every province.

Weather Network meteorologist Michael Carter says 2017 is ending on a bitter note.

“From the West Coast all the way to Atlantic Canada, a very memorably cold last week of the year with high temperatures stuck deep in double-digit negative territory,” he says.

Throughout New Brunswick, Environment Canada says wind chills could drop as low as -35 with the bitter cold persisting until the weekend.

Kelly Sonnenburg of the Weather Network has tweeted with wind chills like these, you can suffer frost bite if your skin is exposed anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.
