The Financial and Consumer Services Commission of New Brunswick is warning residents to be careful about scams relating to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
FCNB recently became aware of a company called USI – TECH Ltd contacting New Brunswickers on online classified sites about investing in the company.

The company claims to be an online foreign exchange and Bitcoin trading platform provider located in Dubai, advertising a high rate of return and promising a pyramid like compensation structure.
The commission says USI – TECH is not registered to trade in, or advise on securities or exchange contracts in New Brunswick, and to do so is illegal.
FCNB reminds consumers to be cautious about getting involved in cryptocurrencies as they are volatile and highly risky.
