Family’s Concerns For Son Prompted Heavy Police Presence In Boundary Creek Area

A heavy police presence in the Boundary Creek area yesterday afternoon and into the evening was in response to a family’s concerns over their son.

Riverview RCMP Constable Chris Plomp says they were called around 2:45 yesterday afternoon by a family worried over the behaviour of their son.

Before officers arrived, the man left and headed into the woods.

Plomp adds there was mention of a possible weapon, and concerns over the man’s safety, as well as that of others, so the RCMP set up a perimeter and brought in a K9 Unit.

He says the man was found nearby later that evening as he was going door to door asking for a ride.

According to Plomp, the man was sent to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
