Young People Are Taking Longer To Become Adults

The workforce is in a state of transition from baby boomers who are retiring and millennials who will become the majority of employees.

Consultant Robyn Tingley, who wrote the book “10 Essentials for the Motivated Millennial”, says businesses will have to adjust. She says millennials want employers to help them learn life skills as well as how to do their jobs.

An analysis of 7 large surveys has revealed young people are delaying the responsibilities and pleasures of adulthood. A “slow life strategy” is more common when families have fewer children. Employers are said to be worried whether younger employees will be able to work independently.
