Provincial Green Party leader David Coon says the electricity market is changing rapidly and NB Power better be prepared the new era of renewable forms of energy and when homeowners can produce electrricity cheaper than the utility.
He estimates that coukld be as soon as 5 to 10 years down the road. Coon points out the price of rooftop solar panels and energy storage is plummeting.
It’s reported every megawatt of wind energy can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 25 hundred tons a year.
