Organigram Hosts “Cannabis Job Fair” In Bid To More Than Double Staff

With recreational marijuana becoming legal in just eight months, local producer Organigram is looking to more than double their workforce.

The company hosted what may well be the first cannabis job fair in the province this weekend.

Vice President of Operations Jeff Purcell says there are opportunities at all levels, including production, administration and quality control.

“Really the quality of people who have come through the door have been extremely impressive,” says Purcell. “[We] expected no less from Moncton and [it] really builds on the quality of staff we already have here at Organigram.”

He says they are offering competitive salaries, and “our environment is highly regulated, highly controlled, very standardized, and the people that are with us today understand that, and the people who are interested in joining us, we can educate them on how we operate.”

Purcell says there are a few items you must have in order to be employed at Organigram including a security clearance, a clean criminal record check, as well as good references.

He says if you missed the fair, you should keep an eye on their website for online job postings as they continue to grow.
