The Ray of Hope Soup Kitchen has served more than 780-thousand meals and in just a couple of years it will reach the one million mark.
In an effort to stay visible in the community after 33 years, the registered non-profit has launched an awareness campaign called a “Million Meals”.
Board Chair Dave Small says the organization is hoping to drum up sponsorships by seeking partners in the private sector.
“If we can get a few of those arrangements in place that will help us plan ahead and not just plan year to year. So it’s really an awareness campaign and then being a bit more proactive by going out into the community,” he says.
Small adds an awareness campaign is important since there has been more competition in recent years from other groups providing similar services.
