A 49-year old Moncton man is facing multiple charges in relation to a spree of armed robberies of banks since the middle of August.
Codiac RCMP say a man was arrested near the Omista Credit Union on Cornhill Street Thursday.
Terry Dean Leger is facing at least six charges including four counts of robbery, committing an indictable offence while having his face masked, and attempted robbery.
He was also sent for a 30 day psychiatric assessment before his next court appearance.
The charges stem from RCMP investigations into several armed robberies since the middle of August.
The Advance Savings Credit Union on St. George Street was robbed on August 15th, while the UNI Financial Co-Op was robbed on both September 6th, and the 21st.
The Advance Savings Credit Union on Weldon Street was also robbed on September 11th, and the attempted robbery charge comes from the Omista Credit Union October 5th on Cornhill Street.
