Blue-Green Algae Found At Town Road Reservoir

Blue-green algae has been confirmed at the Tower Road Reservoir, but residents are being reassured that it is the community’s secondary drinking water supply source, and this will not affect the water supply that comes from the Turtle Creek reservoir.

Samples have been collected and no blue-green algae has been detected at Turtle Creek currently.

The City of Moncton is working with the Department of Health and the Department of Environment and Local Government, along with two other experts…

Water sampling and testing will continue.

Blue-green algae are naturally occurring microscopic organisms found in both fresh and salt water.
