The 37th annual Tri-Community Terry Fox Run will be held this weekend, and 8 year old Chloe Davis will definitely attend.
She has been chosen as the event’s youth Ambassador, “I have cancer, and I always wanted to tell the people about how I feel about when people have cancer,” Davis says.
She knows the Terry Fox story very well, “When he was in the hospital, he saw kids trying to beat the cancer. So, he had a dream that he wanted to run around Canada, and raise money to fight cancer.”
Davis was diagnosed at four years old with a form of leukemia that is common in children. She underwent two years of treatment, that included chemotherapy.
This past May, her family celebrated two years of being cancer free.
The Run is being held on Sunday, on the Riverfront Park trail. Registration begins at 12 p.m. in the events zone on Assomption Boulevard and the run begins at 1 p.m.
