Great Summer Weather For Greater Moncton

Greater Moncton was one of the few locations in New Brunswick which had slightly above normal temperatures in June, July and August.

Environment Canada is describing the summer months as being stellar in the region this year.

Meteorologist Claude Cote says it was actually quite comfortable overall but there were a few hot days.

“Overall this summer we had six days with temperatures equal or exceeding 30 Celsius and the normal is 4 to 5 days… so slightly above normal,” Cote says.

A lack of precipitation did become a concern for many farmers and the forest fire hazard was often high to extreme.

Cote adds rainfall was about 40 percent below normal in Greater Moncton and many areas of New Brunswick had the driest July in twenty years.
