Metro Moncton Gets Two New Electric School Buses

The provincial government has purchased two new electric school buses just in time for the start of the school year.

The Department of Transportation says both buses will operate in Metro Moncton with one assigned to the Anglophone East School District while the other will be used by the Francophone South District.

Treasury Board President Roger Melanson says students who ride these buses on the first day of school will become part of New Brunswick history.

He hopes students will be inspired and incorporate other green intiatives into their family lives.

The new buses will begin rolling on September 5th as part of a pilot project.
