After Codiac Transpo was forced to reduce routes over the past couple of months, services will resume in full on September 3rd.
They had a very tough time finding qualified drivers, and were forced to cut back.
But Senior Transit Planner Marie-Claire Pierce says ten drivers have been hired, “We’ve worked really hard this summer to start the training process of our new drivers, and they have been learning over the last five weeks or so.”
With the return of the full schedule, riders will notice a slight change, We’ve reverted to a peak time and a non peak time service runs. Our peak time, because of the traffic, we have a forty minute frequency.”
Pierce says they haven’t taken a look at their ridership numbers yet, but she believes unfortunately they lost riders because of the cutbacks,
Her hope is that they will be able to attract them back over time.
