Greater Moncton SPCA Looking For Volunteers To Help With Labour Day Rockfest

The organizers of Labour Day Rockfest have approached the Greater Moncton SPCA asking for volunteers to help them with their concert.

Executive Director Dave Rogers says Rockfest organizers have promised to make a sizeable donation if they can provide volunteers to help park cars, direct traffic, and clean up on Sunday.

“We’re looking for about 30 volunteers, we’re looking at helping them out on Friday all day, Saturday all day, and Sunday until we help them get the area cleaned up again,” says Rogers.

He says the organizers involved in Labour Day Rockfest know a few of the SPCA staff personally and “they thought of us, and know how it is for us this time of year, so they do come up, and we’re very happy to take them up on it.”

Rogers says donations from events like this go straight to operational costs.

“That’s towards, food, shelter of course, there’s huge operational costs to run that building,” says Rogers. “We buy a couple hundred pounds of cat litter every day, so we buy it monthly and you can imagine what that costs us.”

He says they’ve had a good response so far, and if anyone wants more information, they should reach out to Dave in the ways provided below.
