The Fisheries and Oceans Department is reporting that the carcass of a North Atlantic right whale has washed up on the west coast of Newfoundland.

But they are unsure at this point whether or not it is another whale, or if it is one of the dead whales previously spotted in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

They are attempting to get there as soon as possible to investigate.
Eight North Atlantic right whales have been found dead in the Gulf.
Necropsies have been performed, but it could take weeks before the final results are known.
