A fundraising campaign for Food Depot Alimentaire that kicked off last September has reached its goal.
They’ve raised one million dollars in their capital campaign fundraising objective for the Peter McKee Community Food Centre.
Their first donation came from honourary chairman Robert Irving, who made a $100, 000 pledge.
Over the past ten months, contributions have come in from all three levels of government, service organizations, foundations, individuals and the business community.
The Peter McKee Community Food Centre has seen a major transformation during that time, and it now serves almost 1500 families per month, which incorporates over 64, 000 meals.
