It was a busy weekend in all three Greater Moncton communities.
The rain didn’t keep the crowds away from downtown Moncton.
Thousands spent time in the downtown for the many attractions and concerts held as a part of Canada Day celebrations.
The end of the night, as always, ended with a bang, as a huge fireworks display lit up the sky.
The only downfall was foggy conditions on Saturday night, and a slight delay of the light show due to the damp conditions.
It was just as busy last night in downtown Moncton. Musical performers took to the stage, that
included Sistema, and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra. Two big finales with New Brunswick native Measha Brueggergosman performing, and then another fireworks display lit up the sky last night.
Avery Kennedy is just one of many talented youth who performed on stage last night. She started in Sistema and then became a member of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra. Kennedy says, “I great a lot in music especially, but as well as a person. I learned to play but also how to be a leader and how to make quick decisions, and I gained more confidence. The NBYO is such a high level, and it is so much fun to be playing such big pieces, such as Beethoven’s Fifth, which everyone knows.”
