The Musquash Estuary Is Deserving Of Conservation

52-hundred acres are now part of the marine protected area that is the Musquash Estuary nature reserve and the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s Paula Noel says most of the land bordering the Musquash river and estuary is now in conservation ownership though there’s still some pieces they’d like to add.

Noel tells us that the Musquash Estuary has been identified for many years as an area deserving of conservation.

She says it began with a study many years ago that identified the Musquash Estuary as the last fully functioning large estuary remaining on the Bay of Fundy.

It was announced this week that four new parcels of land would be added to the Musquash Estuary, two of which were donations from local families.
