Wild Weather Hits Northern New Brunswick

Some wild weather in the Northern part of New Brunswick.

Tornado warnings were issued for Miramichi and area, along with severe thunderstorms last night.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Claude Cote says residents in those areas reported a variety of weather conditions, “We saw some really good videos from the Perth-Andover area, some significant downpours and some good sized hail, and we have a couple of stations that reported 25 millimetres of rain in a very short period of time.”

Cote says so far in the month of June in New Brunswick, we have had 17 days of thunderstorm activity, and that’s well above normal.

He adds, it is early in the season, but all indications point to a busy summer for thunderstorms, with the potential for tornadoes as well.
