Codiac RCMP Advises Small Business Owners To Remove Cash At Night

Codiac RCMP are advising small business owners to make sure they aren’t leaving money in cash registers or cash boxes overnight.

Since the beginning of this year, the RCMP have investigated several break and enters where the front window of a business has been smashed or a door pried open to take money.

The robberies are taking place overnight after the business is closed for the day.

Staff Sergeant Eric Larose says in a majority of the incidents, nothing else was taken other than money, and in some cases the entire register or cash box was stolen.

The break and enters have been in various locations, but primarily along Mountain Road, St. George Street and St. George Boulevard, as well as Champlain Street in Dieppe.
