Summer may be the peak driving season but with rising gas prices, long distance travel may not be option for many New Brunswickers this year.
The Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick believes many of us will be staying closer to home.
President and CEO Ron Drisdelle says higher gas prices make driving more challenging.
“Easier to travel here and there and visit our regions than go outside New Brunswick. I think a lot of families will choose to stay in New Brunswick and do daytrips,” he notes.
Some analysts including Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com have suggested that gas prices could climb to a 10-year high this summer.
