The Magnetic Hill Zoo is reporting that the mother and her three remaining Amur tiger cubs are doing well.
The word comes following the death of the smallest and weakest cub on Sunday.
Zoo director Jill Marvin says the cubs will eventually move away from their mother as they get older which is when permanent homes will be found for them.
“We will find a permanent, future home. We will work with other accredited institutions that have the same thoughts in mind as us – great animal care, great animal welfare, conservation and education,” she says.
Before the cubs move, Marvin adds they must gain experience and learn everything they need to know from their mother.
The zoo says it will be several weeks before they will be unveiled to the public.
