Another season for the Moncton Fisher Cats is soon getting underway.
General Manager Jody Cole says they have two imports all set to take the field under Fisher Cats colours.
“We have our two imports lined up for this year, Lance VanNoy is coming back, he was with us last year,” says Cole. “Our new addition this year is Stephen Johnson, he’s from Chico, California.”
Cole adds their hope is Johnson will be a big part of their team, their lineup, and their pitching staff.
Johnson “spent one winter in Australia as well, and the last two years in Austria, he’s been the League MVP both years he was there,” continues Cole.
Most of the faces on the field will be familiar, but they are losing Mike Ivey, and Juan Ortiz to retirement, reports Cole.
The Fisher Cats play their first game of the season at home on May 20th.
