A road close to the Mactaquac Dam near Fredericton has been selected as the worst road in Atlantic Canada according to the Canadian Automobile Association annual survey. Route 616 at Keswick Ridge was number one on the list followed by Pine Glen Road in Pine Glen.
The other two roads in New Brunswick were Route 101 at Hoyt and Université Avenue in Moncton.
CAA’s Gary Howard says this isn’t an exercise to punish governments but to inform them of what is out there when it comes to road conditions.
“It’s to talk about the importance of our roads to our economy and our safety. We do let the government know that it is coming and after the campaign, they know the result and again see if they want to provide any feedback,” says Howard.
Nova Scotia also had four roads on the list and there was one in PEI and in Newfoundland and Labrador.
