Garage Destroyed By Fire On Salisbury Road

A fire that broke out in a garage on Salisbury Road this morning about 15 minutes west of Moncton is under control.

Moncton Fire Department Platoon Chief Paul Bruens says they were called to the scene around 10 this morning, and when they arrived the garage was fully engulfed in flame.

He says the building on fire was close to both a house and another big barn, so they quickly began defensive operations.

Bruens says they are currently putting out hotspots, and then fire investigators will begin looking for a cause.

He adds there was one person in the garage at the time, but they managed to get out.

There were a couple vehicles stored in the garage, and they as well as the garage are extensively damaged.
