We’re learning new details about an inmate who died last week at the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre.
The Department of Justice and Public Safety has identified him as Tyler Sweeney.
The 49-year-old was found unresponsive in his cell last Thursday and died shortly after 6:30 p.m., despite efforts to revive him.
Officials say foul play is not suspected and the man is believed to have died from natural causes, but Coroner Services continues its investigation.
