The start of Dennis Oland’s second-degree murder trial has been pushed back by two weeks.
Proceedings were scheduled to begin on Tuesday but were delayed by one day due to an “unexpected legal issue”.
On Wednesday morning, Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Terrence Morrison told the court more time is needed to deal with the issue.
He dismissed the jury members until Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Justice Terrence Morrison told jurors they’re mindful about the “significant commitment” involved in serving on a jury, adding they’re working hard to sort out the legal issue.

No details about the issue have been released but Morrison has said the matter will become public “in due course”.
Oland is charged in the death of his father, businessman Richard Oland, whose body was found in his uptown Saint John office in July of 2011.
