Janes Brand Chicken Strips Recalled

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says to check your freezer for one brand of chicken strips because of possible salmonella contamination.

Health officials say the maker of Janes brand Pub Style Chicken Strips is pulling the product from shelves.

The recall was prompted by an investigation by the agency into an outbreak of foodborne illness.

The chicken strips are sold in 800-gram packages with an expiry date of May 11, 2019.

Officials say food contaminated with salmonella may not appear, smell or taste different, but can still make you sick.

In late October, the CFIA recalled Janes brand Pub Style Chicken Burgers for the same reason.
