NB Economy Has Been Stagnant For A Decade – Pollster

The Chair and CEO of Corporate Research Associates says New Brunswick’s economy continues to be sluggish because politicians keep sweeping things under the rug and not addressing the real issues.

Speaking to the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton, Don Mills says the current fractured legislature should send a strong message to all MLA’s.

“Give us something real and stop buying our votes. In the last election, there was a lot of vote-buying with taxpayers own money. I think the taxpayers can see through that frankly.”

Mills says he’s not criticizing politicians because he believes most generally want to make a difference.

But he feels most get sidelined and trapped into getting re-elected.

While New Brunswick’s economy has been stagnant for the last decade, Mills adds the best provincial performer in the region in the last 10 years has been Prince Edward Island since it has been attracting and retaining immigrants – many of whom are creating their own jobs.
