Town Of Riverview Listens To External Budget Applications

The Town of Riverview listened to external budget applications at their Committee of the Whole meeting last night.

Mayor Ann Seamans says this is a normal step in the annual process, where the recipients of major budget dollars make a presentation.

“That gives council an opportunity to see their budgets first hand, because obviously they change every year, and it determines what we’re going to be doing when we get together here in the next couple of months,” says Seamans.

She says the seven presenters were the Riverview Public Library; the Riverview Boys & Girls Club; the Capitol Theatre; the Riverview Arts Centre; Codiac Transpo; Greater Moncton Trans Aqua; and Codiac Regional Policing Authority.

“Except for our Riverview Arts Centre and the Boys & Girls Club, they are services that are shared, so they will be sending these budgets to the other two communities too, we all have representatives on those boards, and they will be our voice at that time,” says Seamans.

Seamans says there were no surprises in the seven presentations last night, and the next budget process meeting is November 24th.
