Organigram To Offer Cannabis Edibles Within A Year

With the legalization of cannabis, Organigram continues to develop its product line.

Chief Commercial Officer Ray Gracewood says under the Cannabis Act, they are currently only allowed to provide certain items for sale, “So right now if you were to walk into a Cannabis NB store, the way that the regulations are, they allow for dried and milled flower, cannabis oil and capsules. They don’t allow for extracted products, or edibles.”

But Gracewood says Organigram will be able to extend into those opportunities within 12 months.

“The way that the Cannabis act is written, allows for us to expand within a year of legalization. We have already been working for six to eight months in terms of understanding what our strategy is relative to developing those products. Plans are well underway, especially around confectionary, chocolate and infused beverages.”

Cannabis was legalized in Canada on October 17th.
