An inmate at Dorchester Penitentiary has died according to Correctional Service Canada.
61-year old James Blanchfield died Saturday of apparent natural causes following an illness.
Since 2017, he had been serving a two year sentence for child pornography and failure to comply with a probation order.
CSC says Blanchfield’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
The police and coroner have been notified and they will be reviewing the circumstances of his death.
