Since being born in May, the three Amur tiger cubs at the Magnetic Hill Zoo have made great strides in recent months and are almost ready to leave for a new home.
Zoo director Jill Marvin says the female and two males have been introduced to a new diet including red meat as well as new activities.
“A lot of new – what we call – enrichment or types of toys, different things for them to play with, to touch, to smell and to learn about new things.” she notes.
Kazimir, Luka, and Samira will be among the animals on display during “Boo at the Zoo” for the next two weekends (October 20-21 and 27-28).
Marvin adds arrangements are being made to transfer the tiger cubs to their new home in November – an accredited zoo in Ontario which will be named at a later date.
