The Avenir Centre has been open for almost a month and by now visitors have sampled some of the food and beverage options available at the new facility.
Many have noted higher prices for items compared to the Coliseum.
The centre’s food and beverage director Chris McEachern says the idea was to take the menu up a notch.
“We’re not just going purely for the run-of-the-mill concession food like hot dogs, french fries and chicken fingers. Those will always be staples. But having someone with the culinary experience like our Executive Chef Drew Hall allows us to elevate that menu,” he notes.
Hall, originally from Louisiana with a Cajun background, says he imported a menu from an SMG-managed arena in Ontario and added his own flavours to the Avenir Centre menu.
