Hillsborough Home Destroyed By Fire

It took 18 firefighters a little more than an hour to get a fire at a house near Hillsborough under control.

Fire Chief Glen Northrup says they were called around 7 Friday night to a house at Osborne Corner Road, and Route 910 to find the wooden structure fully engulfed.

He says with some mutual aid from neighbouring departments in Alma, and Riverside-Albert, the fire was under control by about 8:15, however it took until 10:30 to fully extinguish.

Northrup adds the building was severely damaged, and is uninhabitable.

He says while they are not 100 percent certain about the cause, he believes it is likely electrical.

Northrup says the homeowner wasn’t there at the time, and nobody was injured.
