Two long-time MLAs had their swan song moments in the Legislature on Friday as the 58th session wrapped up.
Oromocto-Lincoln Tory Jody Carr, who at one time served with his twin brother Jack and now his other brother Jeff thanked the Legislature and the people of his constituency for giving him the opportunity to speak for them on a number of issues.
@jodycarr_mla Always thought the Carr brothers were a pair of the best. Must be related. Best of luck Jody.

Carr said ” we are never able to do enough as politicans, it seems never enough for the public never enough for our colleagues, and lord knows never enough for the media, but if you put your head on your pillow at night knowing you did your best that is all we could ever hope for”.
Dr. Ed Doherty talked about the many accomplishments he had in his numerous portfolios and left his final comments for most likely his biggest fan.
Doherty said” to my 95 year old mom, who faithfully watches the Legislature each and every day and tells me when i look tired and checks out the ties I am wearing, I want to say thank you mom”.
Several other MLAs are not re-offering in September including PC MLA Madaleine Dube who serves the riding of Edmunston-Madawaska Centre.
