Becca Had A Remarkable Wit And Wonderful Sense Of Humour–Moncton Centre MLA

A Moncton MLA who is just one of many who had the privilege of spending time with Becca Schofield and her family, will remember her fondly.

MLA for Moncton Centre, Chris Collins says she never let her illness affect her enjoyment for life, and she had a great sense of humour.

“I remember in the Legislature asking her if she had a date for her prom, and she responded, “Are you trying to rub that in Chris?” She had a remarkable wit, and she was very, very quick.”

Collins says Becca’s strong social conscience will stay with a lot of people who have been touched by her kindness.

“She is definitely the pride of New Brunswick and we are all inspired by the incredible message of selflessness that she instilled in all of us, in thinking of others and to be kind,” Collins says.

Becca has motivated youth to believe in themselves, and many no know they can make a difference too.

“We see it in schools, whether it is at Riverview High School students supporting Becca, or the Harrison Trimble students doing fundraising to support the Pediatric ward at the Moncton Hospital. It isn’t only students, it’s adults and young children who have been profoundly influenced by this young woman.”

18 year Becca Schofield passed away on Saturday after a battle with brain cancer. She was diagnosed in 2015.

Her #Beccatoldmetoo has gone viral around the world and has encouraged random acts of kindness in many communities.
