Before we get to the details of the impending snowstorm, kids, get out of bed. There is school today.
The snowstorm that is headed our way isn’t expected to arrive until later today.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Richard Lafortune says the snow will start lightly falling early this afternoon, but things will really pick up in the evening along with the winds. We are currently under a winter sorm warning for our region.
Lafortune says Southeastern New Brunswick is expected to receive the most snow, “The snow will start around mid afternoon today, fairly light at first but picking up in intensity into the early evening. We’ll see heavy snow late this evening around midnight, right up until around 3am. This storm will bring between 25 and 30 centimetres for the Moncton area. Winds will be picking up for this evening, and that will be generating blowing snow, and there will be very poor driving conditions for this evening and overnight.”
If you have things to do, get them done today, because tonight, you’ll want to be indoors.
Tomorrow morning on the otherhand, you’ll have to spend some time digging out.
Old Man Winter isn’t done yet. Lafortune told us that they are still watching another system for early next week. He says it’s too early to say what and how much that will bring to this part of the province.
