It’s another snow day across the region for students….
The schools are closed in Anglophone East, Francophone South and Anglophone North are closed today due to weather conditions.

We’ve got snow this morning, and that will switch over to ice pellets, then two to three hours of freezing rain, before the temperatures finally rise, and bring rain to the region..
Environment Canada Meteorologist Richard Lafortune tells us how much we can expect, “Five to ten centimetres of snow for the Moncton area, along with 2 to 4 millimetres of rain after the freezing rain.”
He says temperatures are expected to rise to about 7 degrees by this afternoon, but we’ll see a major dip tonight, down to around minus 13..and that will cause some slick conditions.
And we’re not free and clear of the snow for tomorrow either. He tells me, another system will make it way in, seeing the snowfall intensify in the late afternoon, with up to 15 centimetres expected for Moncton.
They are also closely monitoring another system for early next week, but Lafortune says it’s still up in the air as to whether that will come as snow or rain for our region.
If you are headed out this morning, be aware that driving and visibility are difficult….and could get worse with the freezing rain on the way…
Plan for your commute, remember to slow down, and drive with care.
