A donation from a local businessman, is benefiting the Capitol Theatre.
Dick Carpenter, who is a long time philanthropist and heritage restoration expert, donated a property at 33 Church Street to the Board of Directors at the Theatre.
The 4000 square foot property, is formerly known at the City Club that was built in 1857, has been completely restored. The Capitol Theatre plans to use the space with new and existing partners.
Currently, it is being used as rehearsal space for the upcoming production of Oliver, which will be performed on stage from February 25th to March 5th.
