NB EMO Urges Everyone To Be “72-Hours Ready”

Let’s face it… most of us are likely not prepared if an emergency happens in our community and help doesn’t arrive for days.

The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) is reminding us to be “72-hours ready” to ensure you have everything you need until help arrives.

EMO says there are three important components.

Number one is to know the risks involved depending on the type of emergency whether it be a power failure, natural disaster or other event.

Number two is making a plan for the entire family so everyone knows what to do.

And three is having an emergency kit with necessities such as food, water, medications, flashlights, a radio, batteries, a first aid kit and cash – in case bank machines are down.
